Marketing Materials

Collateral design for your brand toolkit

Quality marketing materials that are consistent across touch points elevate the perception of your brand and improve the effectiveness of your marketing efforts. We start the design process by understanding the communication goals of each piece and design purposefully with those goals in mind. And, we’ll always ensure your branding is represented accurately and consistently across materials.

Full suite for startup home inspection business

Preparing for launch

Armed with a new name and logo, we then partnered to build brand and go-to-market strategies for the founder to help launch his business. Opus fully immersed in research about the home inspection industry and provided key insights from interviews that informed how to best reach Kensa’s target audience. Combing our left and right brain, we used insights and eye-catching design to create an expansive portfolio of print and digital marketing materials to set the client up for a successful launch. We rounded out this project with the design of Kensa’s website.

Opus and did a fantastic job guiding me on the path to discover my company voice, name, market positioning, outreach strategy, and more.  They spent a lot of time understanding the home inspection landscape from scratch and were deeply thoughtful about their approach and contributions throughout.  In some ways I consider Opus to be a co-founder of Kensa Inspections.

Folder & map design for business school admissions

Form follows function

Although the map is very attractive, we truly believe that form follows function. The map must be clear and intuitive for someone walking through the campus for the first time. We draw on our UX experience when we design maps and try to put ourselves in the position of the visitor when we create and test ideas. We also considered the admissions team and how they would travel, store, and use the pieces. The folder and map design was definitely a great example of where functional and practical concerns inform a great design experience.

Catalog Design

Showcasing the artist’s work in the best possible light is an important consideration for fine art catalog design. We wanted to create eye-catching books that promote the art without distracting from it. Using shapes, sizes and print production elements inspired by their themes, we were able to create clean, distinctive pieces to complement the work itself.

We’re always excited to work with MassArt since 50% of our team members are alumnae.

Newsletter & Infographic Design

The quarterly print newsletter keeps the McGovern network up to date on exciting research advances. Based on survey results, we identified the topics the audience is most interested in to ensure content is relevant. The articles are also focused around a specific topic for each issue such as “precision” or “sound” to connect the research to real world applications.

For the graphic design, we took the approach of a “mini magazine”. We focused on short articles and teasers with opportunities to find more detailed information online.

The heart of each newsletter is a custom infographic with exciting images, data points, and factoids. The infographic varies in approach, style, and concept for each issue.

If I could summarize working with Opus with one word it would be synergy. From our initial conversation to the hectic pre-launch crush, the Opus team was professional, inventive and always collaborative. I particularly appreciated the project management expertise throughout the project. In summary, Opus delivered a beautiful website (on time and within budget) that we are immensely proud to share with the public.
