Graphic design skills improve and excel in a collaborative, supportive team environment. Our frequent, informal critiques provide a fresh perspective or a way to get unstuck with a graphic design challenge. Opus Design is proud of our multi-mega talented designers and want to share a little more about them with you. Here’s Emily!
When did you realize you wanted to become a designer and why?
As a kid, I would cut photos out of National Geographic and other magazines and tape them to my closet doors. My dad saw this and told me he had a graphic designer friend who did things like this and that was that. The conversation was probably a little more sophisticated but that’s what I remember.
What is your funniest design habit or obsession?
I collect/hoard anything printed. I have a hard time throwing it away, especially posters. They’ll usually end up on my walls at home.
What do you like most about designing?
I love the smell of a freshly printed piece and the satisfaction that comes with seeing it in its final form.
Where did you grow up?
I’m from Groton, a town in the boonies of Northern Mass.
What is your pet’s name?
Rosie, the pup-pup, a Boston terrier, pug, and beagle mix also called Chunky Monkey, Snuggle Buggle, The Baby, and on occasion, Emily.
