Responsive website design

Since 1989, Christmas in the City brings comfort & joy to Boston-area families experiencing homelessness and poverty. We were thrilled to work with this wonderful nonprofit on their website redesign. Christmas in the City needed a website redesign that reflected how exciting their events are for families in need. It was also important that the website design for this Boston nonprofit communicated that the events aren’t only focused on Christmas. They are a supportive, inclusive group that welcomes diversity.

The website design was backed by user experience design informed by analytics. The project included a Mailchimp newsletter form and donation integration.

Tasteful gradients

Our design team brought a fun and approachable look and feel to this site with bright and colorful gradients, fun buttons and icons. Thought gradients were a thing of the past? We used them in a fresh way by creating slow color shifts as you scroll down the page. Check out the events page for a custom icon set designed for each of the programs.

Content Strategy Support

As part of the process, we reviewed the existing site with a content audit. During the content audit we identified content that needed to be developed, revised, or excluded on the new site. Based on the approved sitemap and wireframes, we helped the client identify who would be responsible for developing and gathering content.

It is so inspiring to design a website for a group like Christmas in the City that provides so much joy to families in need in our community
